One Prayer

I am so excited that One Prayer is finally here!!! Bear Creek Church and nearly 1600 other churches across our country and around the world are participating in this great month long event. The idea behind this event is found in the words of Jesus in John 17:21 that says, ‘…that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” Through the wonders of technology we will be watching the same messages all over the world for the four Sundays of June. The first Sunday, we will be blessed by a message from the founder of One Prayer, Pastor Craig Groeschel. Craig started Life Church in Edmond, Oklahoma in 1996. Today, Life Church meets in eleven different locations with nearly 20,000 people attending each weekend. Craig and his wife have 6 children and he is the author of three books. His message this Sunday is ‘God is…..Love.’ I know you are going to be touched by his teaching. I am also looking forward to your feed back each week as we introduce a new guest speaker during the month of June!!!

  1. Dear Pastor Bill, Just thought I’d leave you a note and let you know what a great job you are doing in embracing the technology at your disposal. Keep encouraging us all to use this forum often. Personally I would like to get a string going on how we can take our God given gifts, in my case my music, and affect nonbelievers in “their own environment”! All the best and Faith, Hope & Love , Jim

  2. Dear Pastor Bill, I think it’s great how our church is doing this whole One Prayer series. I think it’s just as easy for an individual to forget he or she is not alone as it is for a local congregation to forget that they aren’t alone. One of the reasons why it’s so good to read the Bible is that it shows us and reminds us that 1)God is always with us and in control and 2)we are just one of many many many people and places being affected and changed by God for our joy and his glory.

I also think it’s cool how you guys have been able to provide online versions of sermons now. I think that does a lot of good.

One last thing, the messages so far in One Prayer have been exceptionally potent, and I don’t just mean that they are well-delivered or anything like that (though I suppose they are), but I mean that it’s so good to hear every Sunday about what Jesus did for me, who God is, what his attributes are, what the sure foundation is which I can stick to through thick and thin. It’s really been a blessing, and I hope even once it’s over we can continue to really focus on the deep implications of the Gospel and how we are actually united and made one with him.

Thanks. I hope that you know that God loves you more deeply and personally than you could ever comprehend.
    Love, in Christ,
    David

  3. Dear Pastor Bill,
Just a short note to let you know how moved and touched I was by the series One Prayer. I really can’t say which one touched my heart more, each was so very moving in different ways. Just the fact that all these churches are uniting together to praise the Lord is fantastic. I’d love to see more in the future. Wouldn’t it be so very awesome to have many more churches uniting in this manner. Keep up your good work Pastor and may God Bless you and yours,
    Donna
